A Few Firsts
Well where do I begin...On Monday ...Canada day...Olivia and I went swimming with our new friends Valerie and her son Blake. We had a pretty good time. Olivia was kind of neutral with the pool. She didn't cry and complain but she wasn't smiling and splashing either. We swam for about 45 min before she got too cold and we had to get out but I think we will be going again because we want her to get used to the water. The only down side is that mommy has to swallow her pride and put on a bathing suit only only 4 mos post birth/pregnancy...yuck!! On the plus side Olivia looked VERY cute in her bathing suit...see photo.
Another big first...she is now sitting up by her self...YES I am a very PROUD mother!! She did it last night and I didn't have my camera out but I made sure to capture the event today. She will sit for 30 seconds to a minute unassisted and she looks pretty cute when she does it. I think we are going to have an early walker on our hands...she rolled over early and now she is sitting up at 4 mos. She is going to keep me very busy!!
Last night we had supper with some friends. One couple has a 9 month old...Isaac. He is a very cute little boy and he is very close to walking. He liked Olivia a bit...he was giving her kisses and climbing on her and bonking her on the head when he was doing his drum solo(He liked to drum...in fact his mom called him their little drummer boy). I had the picture on here and then I accidently erased it and if I try to load it again it will go to the top and I will have to type all of this paragraph again and I just don't quite feel like doing that so you will just have to picture it all in your head!!!
I took Liv for her 4 mos immunizations and she did very well. She cried and looked at me like she couldn't believe that I would let someone hurt her like that TWICE!! She was 25.5 inches long and that puts her in the 97th percentile for height and she weighed in at 13 lbs 7 oz which puts her in the 50th percentile for weight. So needless to say she is growing and doing well but is a bit on the skinny side which is fine with me...what girl doesn't want to be skinny?
Anyways Hope you all had a Fab long weekend...I know we did...and that you survive the heat of summer. It was 28 degrees today and it is supposed to reach 36 degrees by friday! And we DON'T have air conditioning...yes I am complaining.
